TO: Beauty and the Beast (Script Comparison)

For my multimedia class, we had to compare a movie script to what actually ended up in the film. I chose Disney’s live action version of “Beauty and the Beast” for my film.

After reading the script and watching the first five minutes of the film, I can conclude that there aren’t many differences between the two. Although the order of the lines isn’t exactly the same in both, all the lines are spoken. The timing in the script was also different than in the movie. There were lines that were supposed to be spoken during the first camera shot that took longer than expected and continued into the second or next shot. Finally, the script doesn’t include anything that isn’t acting such as the trademark castle intro as well as the title shot, which simply says “Beauty and the Beast”.
